SC grants permission to Karti Chidambaram to travel abroad
Sivaganga MP, Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram has got permission to travel abroad. He was accused of a money laundering case in INX Media and several other cases. The CBI and ED were investigating the cases. Earlier ED had attached 54cr worth in India, Spain, and the UK.
Previously, Mr Karthi was allowed to travel abroad with a deposit of Rs.10 crores. Later, ED alleged that Karthi is misusing the liberty given by the court and prolonging the investigation.
Today, a bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan grants permission allowing Karthi Chidambaram to travel abroad with a condition. As per the order, he has to deposit 2cr with a registry and submit the details of the place where he would stay.
