Strict action against attackers of doctors: Union Minister tells CMs

A day after writing to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to deal with those who recently attacked doctors at a hospital in West Bengal, Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Saturday made an appeal to the Chief Ministers of all States.

Writing to the CMs of States and Union Territories, the Minister reportedly appealed to them to take strict action against any person who assaults doctors.

Reports emerging from Bengal say that about 700 individuals in the medical profession, most of them doctors, professors and assistant professors, have tendered their resignations following the doctors' strike in the State.
