Sunil Gavaskar raises funds for 600 free heart surgeries
Cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar was recently on a fundraising trip to the US to raise funds for free heart surgeries for poor children suffering from Congenital Heart Defects. He has done it as part of an initiative by the Heart to Heart (H2H) Foundation. The news is that the funds raised will go into financing the surgeries of 600 poor kids.
Thanking the donors for the benevolent response, Gavaskar has said that the surgeries will be performed by Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals
A doctor has been quoted as saying that 250 children die in India every single day because of CHDs.
