The South Korean film 'Parasite' was in the news earlier this week for winning four Academy Awards. While the dark tragicomedy thriller has been hailed across the world, a Tamil film producer feels that the makers of the movie are guilty of lifting the story from his romantic comedy 'Minsara Kanna', which released in 1999.
Producer PL Thenappan has stated that he will be filing a case seeking compensation from the producers of 'Parasite' for allegedly plagiarizing the Tamil movie, which starred superstar Vijay in the lead.
Actually, the two films have no similarities with respect to plot, characters, and the main theme. The only similarity is that a family invades a rich person's house by posing as unrelated servants. The motive of the characters in the Tamil movie has no similarity to that of the characters in the South Korean movie.
