Sri Reddy had on Monday besmirched Sekhar Kammula's image by saying on Facebook that he deems Telugu girls as only fit to sleep around. The director has expressed shock at this. "A social media post maligning me has come to my notice. It's vulgar, demeaning, and full of lies. It has caused deep grief to my family, to me, and everybody who values me. I could never imagine even in my wildest dreams that a woman whom I don't know, have not seen or spoken to in person or on the phone can suddenly make baseless allegations against me," the 'Fidaa' director began saying. "Whatever might be their intentions and whoever might be involved in this diabolic act, I would like to say that it's wrong, immoral, criminal," he said, almost suggesting that he doesn't rule out a conspiracy against him. "People who know me and my work would be aware of the kind of importance I attach to the equality of women and their empowerment. I live by my character and die by it. I will not spare anyone who tries to point fingers at me. Apologize and take back every word that was posted against me. Else, be ready to face legal action, which will include criminal/civil proceedings," he signed off. Sri Reddy's reaction is awaited.
