'Terrorists as freedom fighters', IAS officer shocks
Shah Faesal, the 2009 IAS topper, has drawn criticism from several quarters by saying that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
"No one can overlook the loss of life on the other side (in Kashmir). One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. One man's soldier is another man's oppressor. Humanity is looking beyond these labels and mourning for all," the bureaucrat, who originally hails from Kashmir, noted on Twitter.
It's irresponsible for a government servant to make such specious remarks. "If a civil servant believes that a Kashmiri terrorist is a freedom fighter and the Indian soldier is an oppressor, then he has no business to be in the service of the Indian Government," says Nandini, a commentator.
One might as well say about Shah Faesal that one man's IAS topper is another man's dimwit.
