TV artist, her mother print fake currency, arrested
Just in a span of 8 months, a Malayalam-language TV actress, her mother and her sister have printed counterfeit currency to the tune of Rs 57 lakhs. It has happened in Kerala's Kollam.
Surya Sasikumar, the TV artiste in question, has been found to be working under the directions of her mother Rema Devi, the scam's kingpin. The police have taken the two and Surya's sister Shruti into custody. As per a report, Rema Devi invested Rs 4.36 lakh in printing the notes. They were in touch with six unknown offenders.
The racket was being carried out for months at their residence. The currency of Rs 500 denomination has been seized.
